This is my favorite dessert. I mean, I love Brownies and Icecream, and I love anything with Oreos in it, but this is THE SHIT. It's called "Strawberry Surprise." It mixes strawberry jello mix, frozen and fresh strawberries and whipping cream, that gets poured over angel food cake cut in sqaures, and it comes out looking like this fantastic little pink cake. Mmmm, damnit. So good. Can't wait to eat it tonight!

I like Oreo's idea of posting pics of her dinners. Sadly, I'm completely out of food right now so I haven't been cooking all that much recently. But I went to a restaurant in San Francisco this past weekend which was fantastic. Here's a quick rundown:
1. Lobster bisque canape --- A shot of buttery, lobstery goodness.
2. Mushroom-stuffed ravioli in truffle butter sauce canape --- Good but not all that memorable.
3. Stinging nettle soup with apples and creme fraiche --- A great way to start the meal. Stinging nettle is an herb whose edible parts taste like a mix between spinach and arugla. It was blended with the creme fraiche to make a creamy, pale green soup that was then poured over diced apples. The pepperiness of the soup balanced beautifully with the sweet-souriness of the apples. And creme fraiche is always welcome.
4. Atlantic black bass filet with crispy skin --- Great presentation. The flesh was buttery soft, falling apart at the slightest poke from my fork.
5. Squab --- The breast was served on top of a bed of fantastic carrots grown from a local farm the restaurant has a contract with. What I thought was especially memorable about this dish was the squab "shank" served on top of a mushroom puree. It was kinda cute seeing the little pigeon leg sitting there.
6. Ribeye with black truffles --- Not a whole ribeye (obviously). It was beautifully red and cool in the center and crispy on the outside. Black truffles, however, always steal the show.
There was dessert but it wasn't all that memorable. I'll try to go grocery shopping tomorrow so I can post my own creations. And no, they won't be nearly as awesome as what I wrote about here, but at least it will be healthier.

Wholemeal pasta with mushroom, onion, garlic and sherry sauce. Sprinkled with fresh oregano and parmesan cheese ( sometimes I will add bernard matthews honey roasted turkey ham)
