Cowboy Bebop

Probably one of the most notable and popular series that ever reached the Western shores with unique characters like Spike Siegel. There has been confirmation about the U.S live action movie (Deja-vu anyone?) in development. Keanu Reeves (Neo from the Matrix, Bill from Bill and Ted's Awesome Adventure) will be starring as Spike Siegel. I wonder how will he pull off the look and his clever personality. Plus, lets hope that he executes the word, "Bang." like what Steve Blum did in the English dub of the anime.

Yea, Travis has a point there and also you should never expect any movie or other type of media based on another work to be excatly the same because well, it's a different work and different style of media by a different author. If they can make an entertaining movie that does justice to the characters and sci-fi setting it might be okay.

So you really can't say its horrible just because its different because well of course it's gonna be different it's not an anime or manga, its a live action movie.

I really don't care how much he can look like Spike, Keanu Reeves is a horrible actor. Absolutely, horrible. That aside, a full action Cowboy Bebop sounds interesting. I love that anime, as you can probably tell from my avatar. I shamefully haven't seen all of the episodes, so one of these days I'll by the dvds.

The anime and anime-movie was great. I'm going to go watch this with an open mind, the same way that I'm gonna go watch the other upcoming anime or game based films that everyone is shitting all over.

There's really no point in taking a huge dump on something with little or no knowledge of it. There hasn't been a trailer or even set-shots for you to base your opinion on.

Honestly, if fans leave a big fat turd on it this early then by the time they go in to watch it they'll think it sucks no matter what.

Yes, Keanu "Talentless" Reeves has been cast as Spike Speigel. On the other hand, the origional director of Bebop, Shinichiro Watanabe, along with a great deal of the rest of the people who created the anime we all love, are also on board.
This series was their baby.
I don't think they will destroy it now.
