They have before. It is a no longer produced Sony video converter and since they play on a TV I would assume it has a video output (or using a splitter box) and they just take the video out and connect it to the box. Which is connected to the computer. Pretty simple. For the mic, I am pretty sure they have a mixer to combine the two channels of audio.

Dang school,
You're on top of it. DVMC-DA2. That's the Sony Media Converter that we use. I bought it off a guy when I was in college a few years back. We started broadcasting using a Sony DCR-TRV22 camcorder pointed at the screen. That was what the first day of the original condemned was shot with. It was sitting in my closet. we gave it a try and it's worked out so far. As far as the audio its a crappy audio mixer that I used for my high school senior project so, yeah.
Honestly though, I've heard it's better to use a video capture card though. Cause that way all the video processing is done by the card and not having to be send to the CPU. We're looking into that. I've heard you could get a good card for less than 100 bucks.
Hope that helps David

You can also look into buying blitzbox b1-hd for $100
It will allow you to play in HD on the tv and it converts it down to sd to the computer. But I guess this wouldn't work out for you if your playing PS2, but they due have non hd blitzbox
blitzcast.com is the site

I plan on buying a capture card for my sessions in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with my clan. But it seems that dave already gave us the answer.
