rosario vampires kind of a romance horror comedy, but it takes like 3 volumes of "freak of the week" crap before any actual continuity or plot adds anything new to the mix, but its still worth checking out.
and its probably a given but if not, check out tenchi muyo.

"Ah! My Goddess!" is very good. At least, the TV seasons are, I haven't gotten around to watching the OVA's yet.

I could recommend Kannagi, Spice and Wolf (although it's also kinda serious), Seto no Hanayome, Toradora!. and Minami-ke (though it's mainly a comedy series).

I haven't seen the anime, but I know they exist and I assume follow suit, but the manga for "Hana Kimi" Or Hanazakari no Kimitachi e full titie is very very cute and loving and silly; also Manga for Kare Kano, or "Kareshi Kanojo no Jijō" Full title, is also very good. I have come to realize that I love the long-titles-made-short manga. =D They are entertaining. Hilarity only stops for romance! I believe both are short series... I know I read all of Hana Kimi, though I don't remember finishing Kare Kano to the end. I'm on book 15 or so. Pretty sure the series is a 26-ep thing, though. =) "Ah! My Goddess!" is very good. At least, the TV seasons are, I haven't gotten around to watching the OVA's yet. I enjoyed the OVA's, also.

ah, i totally forgot about Kare Kano! that is DEFINITELY a must-watch/read if you're a fan of comedy-romance anime. it's pretty old school but it holds up extremely well, i remember watching it in middle school xP.

Wow, alot of old school recommendations! (Aside from Kannagi) I'd like to throw in Golden Boy into the mix. That's a great classic.
As for recent romantic anime, I second Toradora! as well as Kimi Kiss. Kimikiss had two main guys instead of one for the leading role (going off their own paths), along with lots of girls and their interesting love triangles that tangle within.

hmmm, i would think that Ouran would definately be your best bet, but if you want a few other suggestions, try Midori Days (Midori no Hibi?) or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and if you want to try something focusing a little less around a school setting, Skip Beat is absoloutely amazing! Pardon my use of colors, i'm just getting used to the options at my disposal here ;D

Toradora! is amazing; easily my all-time favorite romantic-comedy anime. I also recommend both Clannad series. The second season is really sad though.
I find that some romantic-comedy manga that get turned into anime tend to disappoint, so I'll recommend some of my favorite romantic-comedy manga, if no one minds:
Mahoraba Love Hina Ai Kora Happy World Midori no Hibi Parallel Watashitachi no Tamura-kun
These are all free online. Just do a google search and all of these are on one particular website. I won't type the name cuz I don't wanna get banned. ;D
