Okay so i was talking to a freind and he said i would need a hard drive didn't matter which size to get onto xbox live. i bought a 20gb hard drive and when i put it in and tried to sign up with xbox live it said can't connect. then i tested my connection and passed everything until the xbox live test and now im stuck and don't know what to do... please help

Try making sure you're connected to the right Wifi Access Point. Try calling Microsoft tech support.

im using an ethernet cord do you think i will need the pppoe settings in to connect?

maybe xbox live was messing up for abit because if you pass everything it should work or is ur xbox modded?

no its not modded at all im just trying to sign up for xbox live and it wont let me

has ur xbox ever been sent for repairs ive heard some people havent got back thier xboxes but they got someone else's who modded his/hers

does anyone actually by the wireless headset, it's like the biggest waste Actually not really when you take in account how BAD the 20 dollar wired mics are. they only last a few months then the wiring goes bad

Will some one answer this i have a net gear usb 2.0 wireless adapter do i need the wireless thing u can buy at walmart for 99.99$ to get on?

to OP, no you don't need a wireless adapter to function with your router. You should be able to plug right in with an ethernet cable.
If it fails at xbox live test, call tech support, and have them check the serial number to see if it has been banned. If that still doesn't give you an answer, then google the problem. Could be firewall settings imposed by the router too. Make sure your NAT is set to OPEN, not moderate or closed.

so they could have banned my serial number... could they un ban it for me when i tell them i bought it at a pawn shop or will they not beleive me and tell me to fuck myself?

chances are they won't believe you, but you should call and ask CS before assuming anything. Make sure you're banned
