Being polite gets you a long way in this world. People might make fun of you for being polite but, in the end it's the right thing to do and you feel better for doing it. It's easier to make friends when you are nice to people. They feel like they can come up to you for anything. Don't forget the magic words: Please, Thank You, Yes Sir, No Ma'am, and Excuse me. These always come into play no matter how old you are.

I believe that I have to be polite to people because I have no idea whatsoever what they are going through at the moment. I assume that the worst is happening in their life, and that I shouldn't add on to it by being rude, because that's exactly what I would want them to do if I were in that situation. It's a philosophy based on the whole "Golden Rule," I suppose.
But that doesn't very well explain why should we, does it? Most anything we do has to be lucrative; people usually don't do something out of sympathy, or to be kind.

Being polite shows you are considerate and respectful of the other person. Why should you do it? Because it makes you a better person and would you want to be near a person who is grummpy and angry all the time?

"What again is the point of being politically correct?"
So you don't piss off conservatives.
"Why is it wrong to not like another person because of their race?"
You really aren't that different. "Of another race" usually means different colors of skins. Just because some people's bodies produce more melanin than you doesn't make them subservient. Your genetics are identical (your alleles may not be).
"Why are stereotypes bad if they're usually correct?"
Because not everyone in the group follows those guidelines.
"Why are there offensive words?"
Because some people long ago decided certain words shouldn't be uttered. Tradition rule.
"Why the hell do i have to be nice to these bastards around me everyday when we all know damn well we hate each other?"
If everyone that hated each other fought, there'd be a lot of fighting going on. Ignore those who you hate, treat them as non-persons. Treat them worse than dirt without using physical or verbal confirmation. Works well for me.

What again is the point of being politically correct? Never been a fan of political correctness, so i'll answer this one with You don't have to be, why can't you call someone who is black, black, its not an insult its the truth. But I do feel it is wrong to use someones race as an insult
Why is it wrong to not like another person because of their race? Ok to answer this one you have to look at it through their perspective. If you went and insulted someone for something they had no control over then they'll probably just get upset and angry. And doing so will, make you look like a douchebag, afterall what right do you have to insult someone because they arn't the same colour as you. It doesn't make you superior.
Why are stereotypes bad if they're usually correct? Ok the answer to this is that almost every single stereotype is a small minority of the people it is trying to make fun off. For example the stereotypical Nerdy Jewish persona, given by Woody Allen, is not shared by everyone who is jewish. Or the Stereotype that only black people can dance, when there are many white people who can dance just as well.
Why are there offensive words? Because we use them to insult other people. Think about this, People need to fight or get angry or whatever, they do this to show there anger or hatred towards something or someone, they will either express it with violence or with words. It just so happens that the words people use happen to be the words people use. It makes sense.
Why the hell do i have to be nice to these bastards around me everyday when we all know damn well we hate each other? Hey if you wanna be a dick to people, be a dick to people. No-one is stopping you. The only reason people are nice to each other is because they are afraid, afraid of how people will perceive them and how they will react to them. This is basic human nature, (most) people want to be liked.
But hey if you do think you can get through live being a douchebag to everyone, their is nothing stopping you, next time you see group of african-americans (to be politically correct) call them N*ggers, and see what happens. If something similar to that happened to me i would not be happy.
p.s. does anyone know why when i try to type ass---hole it comes out as asshole

Well technicly we don't really HAVE to be nice to people, we literally could all be rasist sexist jerkoffs if we wanted to. But, just because its perfectly legal and you are able to do it doesn't mean theres not a consquence for it. Most people are nice because they don't want to face the cons

To say swear words came from angry men waving swords is oversimplying things. Many swear words were just ordinary words used in ordinary conversations, of which most them changed over time (I blame those etiquette lovers of the Victorian age =P). Some simply used to be cant (underworld slang), some just to describe ordinary actions, and others... god knows where they came from, but a lot of them did not come from humans and their war cries.
Racist terms... ehhh, difficult to understand. Terms such as a N-word were in everyday usage, and it's quite likely those who were for equality used it too. Were they racist?
It's all to do with what the majority think, and how they change things - and all you can do is accept it. Politeness and language never was static and never will be. It's one side of conformity that you're better off following.

I'm nice to everyone who is nice to me.
I am not nice to ones not nice to me.
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Unless they're being wankers
That's my view on the situation.
That whole race thing shouldn't be a factor because it shouldn't matter were they came from, or what the skin color is.

Being polite really just bodes over better for you. I mean, if you want to be rude and call your boss a prick, go ahead. Just know that there are going to be some negative consequences. But if you're polite, you could do better and go farther.
