They probably would be embarassed if their family knew that they had encouraged a kid to kill himself. The only reason they do it for the lulz is because they think they are invincible, and anonymous. Basically they are just cowards, trying to be something they aren't.

Surprisingly enough, not all of the Anons are cowering twits. On one side of the spectrum, there are ones who act as vigilantes, baiting pedophiles and protesting against those Nazi mods on Habbo, while the run-of-the-mill assholes and miscreants reside on the other. Laughing at one's misfortune/death on the internet is perfectly legal (look at the Brandon Crisp memorial pages on Facebook), despite how inhumane and morally wrong it is. The most trouble they get into is violating terms of service. Only serious cases (hacking Palin's Yahoo account) get the proper authorities involved. What you see on JTV are just your average idiots looking to cause some drama. Complaining and acting out against these people only completes their objective of making show your distaste for them. They just want to raise some hell, and being a man with no name only gives them a slight cover. They realize that they can be tracked, but they take proper precautions (proxies, IP switches, public computers, etc.) before doing anything that's going to be risky. Anonymous knows it's not invincible, but its legions upon legions of members can mask one's responsibility.
