its soo sad when a great show/manga dies. i want to hear some great anime/ manga series that have recently ended or even how some of the older classics ended. i want opinions on those endings as well! for example, code geass, my favorite anime as of late, just ended. and i personaly think that for the quality of the plot in r1 and the plot devices in r2, the ending was an amazing show that the creator never forgot who his character was <3 from the very beginning you could feel the final moment coming closer and closer ^.^ and i loved how (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT!) suzaku and lelouch teamed up and lelouch used the live on geass to make suzaku pretty much godly. and how they piece every bit of lelouch's final plan for world "domination" in the last episode, absoulutly brilliant! though, i would have loved to see a little more character developement on part of CC and alot more about the geass. we did, after all, only learn about future sight, memory bending, will bending, mind reading, and body jumping geass. and from what we saw when lelouch destroyed the geass factory, there were tons more of them out there. all in all, i hope there is a round three where its suzaku and the black nights vs. a new group of rogue geass wielders <3 but thats just one fan girls hope lol

i hate how lucky star ended. i truely hope one day it comes back, even in shorts or small time movies. its just i dont like how they had all these new characters showing up at the end and suddenly, end. i was hoping for atleast 1 episode where the main 4 girls were never even shown and it was all from everyone elses views. something like that would of been fun.
also, just like to say im a konota fan boy. a girl who is a gamer and knows her stuff about anime. if only i could meet a girl like her in real life.

The way Tigun ended was throughly satisying, with
(SPOILER)
Vash, who had followed everything that Rem had told him for his entire life, to finally start to follow his own creed. Really cool. And The ending of Cowboy Bebop was also satisfying, but in a really sad, yet meaningful way. Spike's entire life was consumed with killing Vicious, and finding Julia. With both of them dead, he really didn't have much else to live for. Jet and Faye understood that he didn't care if he died doing it, It was what he had to do. Paranoia Agentg ended awesomely, everything was revealed, and everything was entwined, it all suddenly made sense, yet it didn't. lol. Thats all I can think of right now.

Actually it was reported officially in an interview with the creator that it will take place after the fight, and that Vash ends up running into Meryl again, but something odd about it though. Wolfwood is alive. So yes, its canon but idk... the wolfwood part is pretty confusing. Im pretty sure if you google up the movie, you can probably find the interview.

oh also to a reply in this thread, Im sad that FLCL was so damn short. Sadly, that and Evangelion. I was kinda hoping of a new season showing what happened to Shinji and Asuka and how they survived.

Busou Renkin and chobits endings for me
Both being 2 different genres but sharing the same type of problem, in my opinion; a problem, the romance being expressed near the very end. I enjoy more romance happening mid-way and being tested throughout the rest. Usually in the end I feel like I need an epilogue when animes do this, but that's just me. Though with Chobits that pretty much was the show so I guess I can't really complain.
Another thing would be Busou Renkin's similarity with Yu Yu Hakusho ending where the last big baddy just steps off and leaves. I mean it's cool I guess to be deeper than just good and evil, but I'd rather have some kind of last epic battle before I let go.

Honestly, with most anime/manga I really want closure and a general feeling that there is nothing left untouched. This doesn't necessarily mean there has to be an epilogue stating how the characters ended up, but that can be the case such as in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and a couple of others.
I think that the longer the series the better its conclusion should be, for example if there's a 200+ chapter manga series such as One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and the like it better bloody well have a good ending that wraps up everything with the characters and doesn't just end with the main villain dieing. I would want an idea of how everything ended up for all those characters after, more so if the series is set in a manor that you know it won't be returning.
If it's a set short manga series then the substance leading to the finale is obviously more important then the end itself, some mangas leave a little bit open incase of a sequel series. This can be annoying if the sequel ends up not being made.
I'm personally not a big fan of ending where the hero just completes a major task and continues on, honestly it feels like the entire manga was just one mission instead of an intricate story, but that might just be me.
Series that fall into this category include both Samurai Champloo and GunxSword, the first being simply a "let's all go our separate ways and see what happens" ending but since there was no sequel you never see them meeting again or really hearing anything about where they got to in life. This was a major problem for me in Samurai Champloo because even though I liked the series so much Its episodic, 1-2 episode small adventures to the end introduced so many characters who implied that they would become important. For example the ninja who fell in love with Mugen, the prostitute with Jin, the assassin who wanted to meet Jin again and many more. None of these people were ever addressed.
Now I know a series can leave all that up to your imagination but honestly if they introduce a number of seemingly important characters just to never have them show up again, It gets really annoying and i want some closure. With GunxSword those seemingly important characters actually reappear and establish some importance but the show ends seemingly like "Oh so he finished his mission... Now What?".
Sorry for rambling >.>
Conclusion: I don't mind something good coming to an end as long as they end has a climax, conclusion, closure. I want a large acceleration of events and threat reaching the end, i want it to be taken care of and then i want to see what happened after that.

i just hate the ones that have a create run but then go "oh shit, we reached 23, were only funded for the usual 24, gotta end it next week!" and just staple on a malformed half baked ending noone is happy with.
-and then stuff that could have gone on way longer like outlaw star or the big O.

Cowboy bebop{Spoiler alert just incase} Cowboy Bebop....., Sometimes I feel it ended properly, but sometimes I wonder if Spike really died or not. An old friend told me it was probably up to the audience to decide whether or not he died in the series, but shes not the creator so what does she know?
I wonder how Bleach, Naruto and One Piece will end and what will suceed over the three after they're done? I didn't forget the other Jump series, but these are the three primary series I look into weekly.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Spike dies. The star at the end of the last episode signify's that Spike's journey is finally through, he accomplished what he needed to do, so he could die at peace.
