I gotta admit I haven't played many non-mainstream games, but I felt that The Force Unleashed, Red Alert 3, Crisis Core, Far Cry 2, and GTA4(though not by a lot) were all underrated... Sure they're pretty well-known, but their greatness wasn't adequately recognized...

Though Crisis Core isn't very well-known, which is a shame... Greatest PSP game ever in my opinion.

Red Alert 3 is a great rts, I think it mostly got bad reviews because it's cartoony and out-there, and people take it too seriously

GTA4 is recognized as excellent to some people, but I've seen too many saying that it sucks... My guess is this game's downfall was due to Rockstar's ambition in making it work realistically, so the fact that side-missions don't just show up as blips means they "don't exist"... the multiplayer just sucks though XD

TFU was kind of discarded as a generic hack-n-slash, but I felt that it was epic and great fun, even with the combos not being entirely in-depth.. But I have to admit a big reason I liked it so much is that I'm addicted to the idea of killing people with a lightsaber

Far Cry 2's driving was pretty annoying and stupid, but not enough to put me off entirely, and the other traits of the game are brilliant and one-of-a-kind if you ask me... The story didn't have much substance through the bulk of the game, but the way things started out and the way things ended up were epic

I would have to go with Bullet Witch and Baroque (the latter being a strange game in and of itself and unusually addictive).
