One great thing to do is to try and settle which version of Double Agent is better: Current gen or next gen.
Both have altered story lines, different engine, and a totally different feel.
I've played the PC version (next gen) and the GC on Wii version (current gen, except ugly graphics, so I've lost my right to comment on the graphics there), and I guess it is kind of tough to decide which is better.
Another thing to figure out is whether or not the next Splinter Cell, Conviction, is worth getting excited over waiting for.

Hey Nick, should be a good one. Was watching the feed last night and when you guys mentioned Double Agent I remembered that I have it buried away somewhere. Saw it in a store for about 8 quid, snapped it up, stuck it on the shelf and never played it. At least now I've got a reason!

Oh yeah, this is just to everyone.
If you have a PC that can actually play games, not just games, Splinter Cell: Double Agent is available on Steam for $9.99 (USD, of course) . So if you want a good idea of what's going on, get it before 4PP goes onto this revival podcast. I believe the download should be somewhere around and under 10 GB.

I loved that game. The whole system of balancing your actions was pretty well-done in my opinion. However, there really isn't much consequence for pissing one faction off, as you can just balance it out again by being nice to them.

That's why there's the expert difficulty. Some actions severely hurt your trust with one faction, then the rebuilding is the tough part.

I'm a huge fan of the Splinter Cell series, and I own every single console game for the Xbox or 360. I look forward to seeing you guys play this.
Oh, and enjoy Mission 8.

I'll probably pick it up this Friday for the Xbox 360 and finish it over the weekend.

Its always good to re-play the missions and try to get a better stealth score, thats one of my favorite things to do in Splinter Cell games.

Most people dont seem to realize that there was also an original xbox version of Double Agent that I was lucky enough to play. From the comparisons i've seen, the story is similar, just not as in depth...the story is really watered down but seems to follow the same basic narrative. The trust system is basic set up so that it can either go one way or another depending on your objective...it cant do both or different amounts for each faction like in the 360/PS3 version. Combat is what you would expect from a Splinter cell game...annoying and demands pixel perfectness...be one degree out of total darkness and you'll get caught. The original was semi-decent...didnt really impress me but it didnt disapoint...I cant speak for online play, since it came out when the 360 version was out and im pretty sure I only saw 2 other people online playing it while I had it.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
