Again, a VERY simple process. Files you'll need: - A video you want to make into a .gif (My ripping audio tutorial shows how to get videos from YouTube)
- Video Cleaner Pro (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Encoders-Converter-DIVX-Related/River-Past-Video-Cleaner-Pro.shtml)
- Half a brain
Step 1) Stick your video in to Video Cleaner Pro. You can clip out only the segment you want before hand, depending on your file's extension, but I don't recommend it for newer users. Step 2) Change you output format to .gif at the bottom of Video Cleaner Pro's window. Step 3) Video Settings should read as follows: Compressor: GIF Resolution: Same as Input Frame Rate: Same as Input (If the .gif plays too slowly, try setting the frame rate to 60. Higher = faster.) Regulate Timecode should be checked Quality should be 90 or higher. Step 4) Selecting your segment. Skip this step if you'd like to gif the whole video. Click the button to the left of the Convert button at the top, and a new window will pop up. Have the video play or seek to a point close to where you want to start. Pause the video and go frame-by-frame through it until you find the perfect spot to start. Do the same for your end point. Step 5) Convert. Hit the button, let it roll. If you chose to clip out a segment, you need to watch it until it the timer hits 0 and then cancel it. Video Cleaner Pro is stupid and continues making a gif, even when you specify the end point. If you're just making a gif out of the whole video, you needn't watch it or cancel it.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but in compressor and output, GIF isn't a available option.

Both the Pro version of this program and the Gif addon cost a substantial amount of money. VirtualDub can also be used to do this in the same way, but it isn't as intuitive for scaling/compression. If anyone really wants to use Video Cleaner, contact me.
